archTIS Kojensi for accessibility
Accessibility at archTIS
Our commitment
At archTIS, we believe that the ability to collaborate on sensitive information securely should be available to everyone. Kojensi is trusted across government, Defence, and industry and the people within these organisations are the ones who rely on it bring a wide range of abilities, needs, and methodologies of working. Our commitment to Web Content Accessibility is consciously approached during the stages of design, building and testing the platform.
We are committed to aligning Kojensi with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA — the internationally recognised standard for digital accessibility — and to improving continuously as the platform evolves.
Accessibility is for everyone
When a product is easier to see, operate, and understand, everyone benefits. Here's what that means for the people who use Kojensi.
Vision — for users who are blind, have low vision, or experience colour blindness:
- Screen reader support, tested with NVDA and other assistive technologies, so content and controls are announced clearly.
- Colour contrast that meets WCAG AA, making text and interface elements easier to read.
- Text resizing, zoom, and reflow, so you can enlarge content without losing layout or functionality.
- Meaningful labels and roles (ARIA) on buttons, menus, and other interactive elements, so assistive technology can describe what each control does.
- An accessible secure document viewer, so protected content stays readable with assistive technology.
- Alternative High Contrast theme, an alternative colour theme provided to our end users that further accentuates the contrast between texts and elements across the platform for easier discernment
Mobility and motor — for users who find a mouse difficult, or who rely on a keyboard or switch device:
- Full keyboard navigation lets you move through menus, workspaces, files, and forms — and activate controls — without a mouse.
- Accessible forms with clearly associated labels make data entry more predictable.
Cognitive and learning — for users who benefit from clarity and consistency:
- Clear, consistently placed labels and plain-language error messages help you understand what's needed and how to correct a mistake.
- Text resizing and reflow let you reduce visual clutter and focus on the task at hand.
Hearing — Kojensi is primarily a text- and document-based platform, so you're never reliant on sound to know what's happening. Status updates, confirmations, and error messages are always shown as on-screen text, and Kojensi keeps you informed through in-app notifications and email rather than audio alerts — so nothing is missed if you're deaf or hard of hearing,or simply working with the sound off. Collaboration itself happens through documents, comments, and written activity. If we introduce audio or video in the future, we're committed to providing captions and transcripts.
The standards we follow
Kojensi's accessibility work is anchored to WCAG 2.2 Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). WCAG is built on four principles — content should be Perceivable, Operable, Understandable, and Robust.
How we test and improve Kojensi
We take a structured, screen-by-screen approach rather than a one-off check:
- Inventory — we catalogue every screen in Kojensi so nothing is missed.
- Validate and score — we assess each screen using the WAVE evaluation tool (WebAIM) to identify accessibility defects.
- Test with assistive technology — we navigate Kojensi using the NVDA screen reader to confirm the experience works in practice.
- Manual keyboard testing — we check that every task can be completed using the keyboard alone.
- Log and remediate — each defect becomes a tracked work item that our engineers fix.
- Re-validate — we re-test and re-score after changes to confirm the improvement and guard against regressions.
This is an ongoing commitment: as we add and update features, accessibility testing goes with them.
We'd love your feedback
Accessibility is a journey, and the people who use assistive technology every day are our best guides. If you encounter a barrier in Kojensi, please let us know. Your feedback goes directly to the teams who can act on it.
When you get in touch, it helps to include:
• the screen or feature involved,
• what you were trying to do,
• the assistive technology and browser you were using.
